How To Buy A Kindle

Ok, so you have decided to not get ripped off and buy directly from Amazon – awesome! Below is a step-by-step guide that will take you through each step of the ordering process – it’s really straight forward, but for your peace of mind I’ve created this handy guide on How to Buy a Kindle.

How to Buy A Kindle – Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Navigate to www.amazon.com and locate the product page of the Kindle you wish to purchase (i.e. WiFi, 3G or DX). If you have trouble finding it, use the search function on the homepage as below:

Make sure you search "All Departments"..

Step 2

Select “South Africa” as the country of use, read through the pop-up that appears and close it.

Select "South Africa"

Proceed to click on “Add To Cart”.

Check that the Quantity is correct..

Click “Proceed to Checkout” on the following screen.

Step 3

On the next screen, select I’m a New User and enter a valid email address. Click Sign in […].

The following screen will prompt you to enter your account details. Do so and click Create Account to proceed…

Fill out all required fields...

On the next screen, update your Shipping details – this will be the address Amazon will deliver to. Make sure you get this correct:) Make sure you indicate whether this is also your billing address.

Continue to the next screen where you will select the type of delivery. There will most likely only be one choice – select Priority International Courier (averages 2-7 days) and click Continue.

Only two steps left – continue reading….

  1. Hi there – I am quite interested in getting the Kindle Touch Wi-Fi and as it is not available to ship to SA from Amazon.com I would have to get it from bidorbuy. Is it worth spending the extra for the touchscreen version?
